With all that has gone on during the offseason, the race was sort of anti-climatic.

Hell, something actually good happened without the threat of it being the last day of existence for Champ Car.

I believe we are all elated that the race happened. There wasn't much passing for the lead but, who's going to complain? Not me.

There weren't that many ultra surprises on the sponsor front.

There wasn't a bunch of moaning and groaning because of poor officiating. (Bruno doesn't count)

It was great to have a race, no complaints but, also most are out of breath from cheer-leading for the last 5 months.

...It appears that the best thing about being there was not having to listen to Jenkins...

Announcer complaint threads are a ChampCar fan tradition. You can count on the fingers of one shop teacher's hand the number seasons fans have been mostly pleased with their announcing crew.

One thread or more for each new one he has earned since the appearance of Thursday Night Thunder on ESPN?

Good feelings that:

The series champion won convincingly on a trademark move.

The field was arguably the strongest in years

The broadcast partner seems very interested in partnering and promoting the champcar brand

The crowd was delightful given the uncertainty over the series

The weather Sun. was great

Philippe was surprisingly competitive

Only one yellow

Sponsors! but more needed please.

Justin Wilson showed well

AJ had bad luck, but he and his team look promising

What else?

PT definitely served notice that you better have your %*^& together if you have any designs on taking the Vanderbilt Cup away from him.

Bruno doesn't have his %*^& together.... yet.

But it's a long season. A lot can happen and will.

I'm not real crazy about the pit rules. It just seems to me that a guy can do everything exactly right only to have a race taken away from him because a yellow comes out (or not). I know some people thought the windows were "manufactured" racing, but I disagree. After seeing PT and Kermit struggle to climb out of their cars after Cleveland last year, I am all for the mandatory pit windows.
