Hey BiF, what do ya make of this???

Win On Sunday, Don't Sell On Monday? (http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000101&sid=a6Bd0.coHIM0&refer=japan)

Maybe time for Plan B? Start painting Accords up in rebel flag colors and head for NASCAR? How's the old ROI look on those badged Ilmors now, boys? :p

J_W, my conclusion is that the dreaded "ROI" is to be had in earl-Lite.

After all, isn't that where Nissan plays?

;)

I believe T & H said that earl racing wasn't a "race on Sunday sell on Monday" kinda deal. That they were in it to show off their technology. Obviously, American consumers that have viewed earl races this past year and aren't yet prepared for VTOL Accords or Corolla's. ;)

I think you're right. Play the stealth angle. Sponsor a series that no one knows even exists. Afterall, when Nissan/Infiniti was in the IRL, they were on the skids. Now they're set to take the #2 position from Honda.

And would someone put out the Bat Signal for Oldsmobile and Northern Light? They're not answering their phones.

I'm picking up a brand new Acura TL (with the six speed of course) tomorrow at noon, and it is DESPITE the fact that Honda sponsors the IRL.

Honda and Acuras are a POS. :shakehead

I can't believe that anybody would want to actually buy one if they were a real Champ Car fan.

So how would you define 'a real Champ Car fan'?

Someone who would not buy a car from Honda or Toyota no matter how good the cars are.

Honda/Acura make some great cars right now but I would never even consider buying one.

Jeez

If Ford made a comparable product I would consider it, but they don't. Acura supplies the best bang for my $$ at the moment.

I'm not a CCWS employee, I'm going to buy the car that best fits my needs, and provides the best value and reliability, regardless of where they spend their advertising $.

Ford cars are made to be cheap where they make around $300 or so, so that they can make $12000+ on their fuel guzzling trucks, no thanks.

Thanks for supporting the series, but make something you're personally proud of, then I'll consider dropping that much $ on it.

You've obviously never been for a ride in Mappy's Escort. We're talking serious bling-bling here.

Yup. Here is a pic of my Fiesta that I traded in for my Escort. You think this is bling, wait till I get a pic of my Escort. It's got dubs, altezza's, cold air intake and a NOS sticker.

 Nice car, got mine (auto) back in December.

Picked my TL up Saturday morning.

This die-hard, eat, drink and sleep, bore-people-to-death-with-my-hate-for-TG-and-the-IRL champcar fan loves it.

What a car!

Honda is also a client of mine, along with many of the other manufacturers. I work very, very hard to help them, but let's just say that when I go to spend my hard earned money I know enough about companies to spend my money wisely.

I'm a race fan and a car guy, not a martyr.

Now you need to pick up a few DVD Audio or DTS disks and a blue-tooth enabled cell phone to complete the experience!

Not saying there's anything wrong with the cars, guys. I've never owned one, but I hear they're very sound autos. I am saying there's something wrong with the company though. And... the hits keep coming:

That is an amazing turnaround for Nissan in a supposedly weak global economy.

Since the IRL is not a money-generating investment for Honda (they'll take the credit for slapping a badge on the Ilmor), and the "technology" is not like anything they drop into their autos, it's hard to rationalize their involvement. Maybe Honda can convince itself to overlook this little conundrum as long as Jenson keeps up his winning ways in Bernie's playground.
BTW: How are you doing, Jag_W?

I understand only TMobile, ATT and Cingular offer bluetooth service and SonyEricsson and a few others offer bluetooth phones. Any suggestions?

So far Sprint and Verizon don't have bluetooth phones. I got a SonyEricsson T616 through ATT and it works great with the car.

Acura's website has a list of phones and pairing instuctions, not sure how current it is.

Start here (http://www.acura.com/models/model_comfort_handsfree.asp?module=tl#) Click on the little phone and select 'phone compatibility'.
