Any word on the mysterious Toyota engine failures at LB last weekend? I can't remember the last time I saw an Atlantics motor grenade, let alone two within 20 minutes or so.

Considering how high-strung and overstressed the Atlantics motors are, I'm quite surprised we haven't seen more kabooms.

When you push a 20 year old 1600cc motor to 240 hp you're bound to have troubles... at Thunderhill last month we had two go inside of 20 minutes at the club races.

Should be noted that both granades were from the same team. Maybe Figge got a bad batch of parts.

Or maybe they were a little too optimistic with the nitrous.

Maybe Toyota was pushing some of the engines too far in order to insure they were the winning marque. :saywhat:

Actually I thought it was going to be about what Mapguy needs to do to his "date" so he is not "alone" on a Saturday night.

Do they sometimes use nitrous in Atlantics? First I ever heard of it, but then again, I have not known anyone who raced one in 10 years.

SHHHH! Don't tell anyone, cause it's against the rules, but it's been sucessfully done many times.

Like Smokey Yunick said, "if you don't get caught you're not cheating."

Right?

It's probably telling that both blow-ups were on the same team. Maybe the team botched some plumbing or something.
