You mean like the red-light camping district at SPA? :saywhat:

Actually wasn't it Hungary that provided "erotic camping?"

The clause on the back of the ticket seems pretty comprehensive, but if you're desperate for a 'technicality' to throw them out on, recall that shorts are not allowed in the paddock.

Actually they are. It's only a hot pit that bans shorts.

Max and a couple of his "girls" sat in the same grandstand as us last year during the race. When they started on the whoring and picture taking, the red coat C300 people came and escorted them away.

What a relief. When I saw the latest post in the Sex and Racing thread was by McB I was surely expecting some mention of Sarah Fisher.

Well, I only have my "Pre-Race Pit & Paddock Pass" (good for Saturday and Sunday) from last year's race at Fontana (that never happened) to quote from, but here's what it says:

1) Age Requirement - You must be at least 18 years of age to enter the pit area.

2) Proper Attire - Shirt must be worn. No open-toe shoes. No shorts. Shoulders must be covered.

3) No smoking in the pit or garage area.

4) No alcoholic beverages in the pit or garage area.

5) Your pit pass may not be transferred to another person and must be visible at all times.

Now, the practicality of it all is that I've worn shorts in both a 'cold' pit and a 'hot' pit (while the Valvoline/Elf fuel truck was passing by no less  ) So that's reality. But I said 'technicality' :D

If you don't believe me, I'll be more than happy to scan a pic of the pit pass and post it; if somebody will be kind enough to host the image for me.

A "Pit and Paddock Pass" such as the one you have is not the same as a "Paddock Only" access pass, which is what 95% of the people present in the paddock at LB have. Shorts are allowed in the paddock.

We all know that sex sells, there is a fine line between what is exceptable behavior from sponsors promoting their product with attractive women and other sponsors (Penthouse) wanting to put their product on cars.

But should it be acceptable for porn sites to gain access to paddocks, film and be filmed hawking their product? Should I have alerted the powers that be? I'm no prude mind you, but it's one of the things that really irk me about racing.

I agree with Kellner about Brickman going to great lenghts to find something wrong, but violating my, "never respond to a Brickman post" rule:

No, it shouldn't be acceptable.

Yes, you should have alerted the "powers that be."

They should have ejected them. It would have been better PR to explain why they ejected them than explain why they didn't.

On the thread in general:

There is nothing funny about pornography.

If this happened at a race track on private property, the whole thing would have been pretty easy, but given that it was in a municipal space, well, there are a lot of half dressed women in the stands, in the pits and in the mall these days. Having to deal with Max Hardcore is price we pay because WE are distasteful.

One person's opinion on what is distasteful dress, is different from another persons. Are burkas in America's future?
