Pop emailed this to me today. Thought it was funny.

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be
worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

With Worldcom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Miller (the beer, not the stock)
one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum
recycling price, you would have $214.00. If you drank the beer in the 1st two
months, recycled the cans and put the $214.00 in the bank, the additional
interest would have boosted your investment to almost $220.00.

Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and
recycle.

This is now my new retirement program, I call it my 401-Keg.

Damnit!

I've been trying to convince my wife of the wisdom of my investment for years.

Thanks 2C

I've switched my 401(k) to the 401(keg). The fun/frustration ratio looks more promising than the traditional investment. Additionally, one doesn't have to wait till age 59-1/2 to start using it.

As someone that works in the financial field I have to say that this is probably some of the soundest advise I have ever seen....Although you might want to buy stock in Tylenol to hedge against the inevitable "hang-over" factor in case you become just a little bit "irrationally exuberant".... ;)

tylenol's acetaminophen + alcohol == destructive in the liver

Buy stock in Pedialyte's parent co. and Bayer instead :)
