Larry is missing once more this weekend so there will be no Futility at Darlington. Looks like it is up to AJ4 to uphold the family dishonor at Phoenix this weekend.

I dont know what happened out there, weather, dust storm or whatever...... but this looks more and more like an old mid 1974 USAC Champcar grid with the speed difference.

How is Paul Page and Company going to spin these time trials????

It's "the closest grouped" pacelap in HISTORY
It's 'THE MOST DIVERSE FIELD EVER" PERIOD!

but you just dont get it without the stylistic mussings of Jac Aroot

The really amusing part is that AJIV then complained about being held up by a slow car! Its hard to fathom how slow that car must have been.

W'w'wait...the slowest car on the track is complaining about being held up by a slower car? Uh, ok IV.

Maybe he was referring to a car in the parking lot holding him up after the race.

And after Hillenberg, Shelmerdine and Ruttman drop out after 10 laps, Larry can have DFL all to himself.

AJ's team has never won a points paying NASCAR race. That streak won't end anytime soon.

Hillenburg has yet to do a start-and-park. In fact, Andy has finished every race except last week at Darlington, where he GOT parked by Stewart.

You know what? I know he loves the lad but how about getting a name in there like J.J. Yeley for a couple of races. How about running Kasey Kahne for the 500? This will do much more for the series, (not that I am supporting it, just a good idea) than running a supposed name Like A.J. Foyt the duh! I grew up Idolizing Al Unser Jr. (I'm 27, and a total li'l Al fanboy) and he cannot get a ride and he won last year! How about the F1 107% rule for the IRL, that will insure a decent field!!!  :D

AJ should get him a test or two with a good team. I don't think he's that good, nor do I think he's as bad as he looks in AJ's car. The best thing Foyt could do is stop being his team owner.

No Bristol for Larry after all! :gomer:

From Jayski:

Larry Foyt's #14 Dodge car failed to pass inspection a first time and his crew worked on the problem areas before returning to the inspection line. When the Dodge failed the final time, the car was seized by officials. The Foyt team had only a speedway car on hand as a backup, so they decided not to make a qualifying attempt for Sunday's Food City 500.(ThatsRacin.com)

This is a new low, even for the Foyt team. AJ should fold it before further embarassment.

It seems to be as of late depending on the infraction, NASCAR also confiscated a car from Yates racing for Jaimie McMurry this weekend; however he had a proper back up. Last year they took a car from Hendrick for Kyle Busch and a car from Gibbs Racing for Tony Steart.

Yeah but all those folks are frontrunners, what in God's name made a Foyt car worth confiscating?

Maybe they're curious as to how a car can suck so much. What is really sad is that they're cheating and they still can't be competitive.

Thinking of one of AJ's turdmobiles being confiscated for having some kind of advantage reminds of seeing Hiro at Milwaukee one year. He'd run some of his way the hell off the pace laps and come into the pits, and someone would put the covers on the wings. I'd think to myself, "Why in the world would anyone want to know what wing angles Hiro is running???"

Same deal with AJ's cars.

I read in the morning paper that the Foyt car was nabbed for having improper dimensions for the rear window. Ol' AJ must have brought the old Fairlane fastback to the track by mistake.

Same deal with AJ's cars.Dave, perhaps the angles were spot on, but as we know the man in the cockpit wasn't.

You know there are/were certain drivers you could give a sled to and they would still go fast (Senna, Schumacher, Andretti pere) and there are guys who you could put in a 04 Ferrari and they would still go slow (Foyt Jr., Hee-row, Randy Lewis, et al).

The covers where put on to keep from scratching the paint. Most of those cars where painted, and guys like Paintergeek would raise a barrel of hell over a multi color paint job with a nice scratch on it. Throw a cover on it, viola, you have someplace to lay your wrenches and tire gauges. In Hiro's case, a place for the Meyer brothers to rest their elbows until the stock broker called to inform them of the value of their portfolio.

I know what you mean however, I have seen some pretty dumb stuff at racetracks. Getting a completely trashed racecar back to the garage area is bad enough, some dink dropping off more wasted parts is another. Yeah, thanks, where is the dumpster?

The all time best IMO was Hemelgarn fueling Buddy's sled at Texas while it was on fire. I still laugh everytime I think of that one!
