Sauber Wanted To Sign Jacques
JV-World.com

Peter Sauber has revealed that he would have tried to sign Jacques for 2003 if he had known that he was available.

Having left BAR last October, Jacques is sitting out 2004 – but things may have been very different if Sauber had got their way and persuaded the 1997 World Champ to join his team last year.

According to the March edition of F1 Business magazine, ‘Interestingly, Sauber admits he would have signed Jacques Villeneuve if he had known of his availability in time.

'To replace whom, he did not say,' the magazine continues, 'but Villeneuve’s signing would probably have been at the expense of Massa, who was deemed too young and inexperienced following the 2002 season.’

I doubt Jacques was thinking about Sauber at that point in time, now maybe, but not back then.

How much was Honda paying him? While he may have sold his career out for Honda bucks, he sold it at a damn good price.

Sauber isn't what Jacques needs...they seem to be in a competition with Toyota for the sixth-best team...
