Jag_Warrior
02-14-04, 10:36 AM
I noticed in the 7G thread that someone suggested a rundown of who is who now. Or who they were before. Or who we think they are. Whatever... you know what I mean (even if I don't).

For those that didn't keep the same handle, would you mind helping us get familiar again? I'll go first. I'm Jag_Warrior here, but most knew me as Silva before.

<That's>
<<Right>>
<<<Who>>>
<<<<Knew?>>>>

I know he got on the nerves of many (including mine), but the names that I can remember best over the years are those who challenged me (and the ones who put me on gay porn mailing lists or threatened me with violence: ah yes... good times... good times :saywhat: )

So, unless you're going for a fresh start, who are you???

P.S. Why don't the signatures work?

WickerBill
02-14-04, 10:39 AM
Hello, my name is WickerBill.

(hello, WickerBill.)

I used to be Laguna. But I was always WickerBill. I had a few arguments with myself to throw people off the trail.

Signatures are turned off currently.

cart7
02-14-04, 10:52 AM
I've been cart7 since speednet days. My only other handle is the one I use at TF on the few boards they still let me post on. trac-champ.

KLang
02-14-04, 10:53 AM
WB was kind enough to change me over from Type-S to my current handle. I got rid of the car in December so it didn't really fit anymore. On reflection it wasn't very imaginative anyway.

My new handle is most of my real name which is much more imaginative right? :saywhat:

4wheeldrifter
02-14-04, 10:58 AM
... still, and always, 4wheeldrifter.

I did a Google on 4wheeldrifter last week when 7G went down in hopes of finding where the 7G forums disappeared to. All I found is someone at an obscure site dedicated to ancient Porsche parts/service questions that had utilized the same name. Someone lurker from 7G perhaps (7G was the only site I used this name)?

J_W was/is Silva? Yikes, coulda fooled me (and did). I haven't been to TF in a long, long time. Are you still posting as Silva over there?

nissan gtp
02-14-04, 11:03 AM
I use the same handle eveywhere, sometime with a '_' or '^' for the forums that can't deal with a two name handle .... I actually kinda like the ^ version.

.... 7G was the first forum I ever frequented... I'm mainly CW these days. I need to get over here more.

the 7G influx should liven things up everywhere :D

Jag_Warrior
02-14-04, 11:13 AM
J_W was/is Silva? Yikes, coulda fooled me (and did). I haven't been to TF in a long, long time. Are you still posting as Silva over there?

Whoa! Hold the door there. Before people click the Ignore Jag_Warrior option (if they haven't already)... Jag_Warrior is Jag_Warrior: the guy who (clearly) makes too many bad jokes (evidenced by the fact that I just lost my reason to buy a Valentine's card this year... too d@mn "funny" for my own good  ).

Proof that I'm not Silva: I overuse (_) and "_". Silva overused <_>, while Paper was ,,, . See, we're all totally separate people... really ;)

JT265
02-14-04, 11:14 AM
Hi all. I'm JT265 here, but I was Franklin on the old boards.

Now, anybody have any jet fuel? :saywhat:

:D

Hard Driver
02-14-04, 11:31 AM
Jag Warrior, Do you have a split personality? Silva was always arguementative just for the sake of being arguementative..playing devils advocate and all. Jag Warrior is far more thoughtful in your posting. What do you get drunk and become Silva or something. ;)

Hard Driver everywhere. Maybe Hard-Driver if spaces are not allowed. E-bay is the one of the only places it was taken so I put in two dashes for Hard--Driver. Being a computer geek and fast driver, the double meaning works for me. My Brother-in-law made up the name for a fantasy football league.

7G was the first board I posted to, missed the speednet days. I originally did use a handle AlexW or something like that for about 6 months and then re-signed up with the Hard Driver handle. I was curious what my old handle number was. Ocassionally when one of those "who has a number under 100" threads came up and I was like 250 or something, I wondered what my original handle number was.

BTW, thanks Wickerbill for taking us in. I must say I always missed your moderating in the ChampCar forums when you left 7G.

Audi_A4
02-14-04, 11:35 AM
I was Robbie! over @ 7G ... currently use the handle Audi_A4 .. I have no idea what to use when/if I sell my car...

Brian_R
02-14-04, 11:54 AM
Brian_R over at 7G, and Brian_R here as well. In the gaming world I have handles AndretiFan (from early 90s on ICRS on AOL), [Stinger] from the mid / late 90s and currently SpeedNut. Okay, I think that's all of them, sheesh. I'm part of the 7G group of Nazareth refugees who now is a 7G refugee (hope it's not the racing gods thumbing their nose at me  )

Anyways glad to see some old faces and to call OC home. :)

Mike Kellner
02-14-04, 12:25 PM
I was gonna tell people I was Silva and Franklin. I gotta get up earlier. Well, would anyone believe I used to post as Knock_Off? No? Oh well, I guess I am just boring ol' Mike Kellner.

For a while back in 2000, I decided my name was too last millennium sounding, and changed it to E-kellner2000, or EK2K for short, but that got stale real quick. After the Formula Neck Snap incident on Speednet, I reappeared as Cheezewiz, having discovered that there was a limit on what you could say there. KO was telling everyone he got me banned. Hard to say if he was telling the truth.

Always was and still am Insomniac.

Jag Warrior, Do you have a split personality? Silva was always arguementative just for the sake of being arguementative..playing devils advocate and all. Jag Warrior is far more thoughtful in your posting. What do you get drunk and become Silva or something.

Oddly enough, I don't even drink. Can you imagine me with extra chemicals swimming around in my system?

But being a big Stargate1 fan, it's possible that I am inhabited by a go'auld. I'm good, he's the one who does bad things (honest!). That's the explanation I gave recently when it was suggested I was not of this world (which further explains my location). That joke didn't go over well either, as I'm pretty sure I heard the word pendejo... more than once! :saywhat:

Thanks, WickerBill. I hope this place will bring back some of what was great about being a Champ Car fan. Just a few :) on race day and escaping reality for a couple of hours... without having to justify every single little detail of the race to someone who has a bitter heart to begin with. Thank you!

P.S. My next move might be one of those mailorder bride services. Say, what are the FedEx charges for a 120-135 pound package anway?

Hola, I'm Ank, formerly known as Jim Wilke to a certain few, and previous to that mr Hoop 98 until I was so unfairly banned, I can make pretty little excell spreadsheets full of utter bull, see :D

Sean O'Gorman
02-14-04, 02:38 PM
I believe my alternate name(s) have been pretty much covered to death in the Feedback forum. ;)

pinniped
02-14-04, 02:43 PM
I am pinniped. I was previously, and perhaps still am ZanardiEnthusiast. I was ZanardiFan very briefly but for some reason couldn't get into 7g with that name (banned?) and had to choose new handle...D I guess it doesn't matter now, 3,000 + posts later...

fourrunner
02-14-04, 03:04 PM
I used to be fourrunner at 7G, as at Speednet before that. Got my tough skin at Speednet... No Moderators!

As with Brian R, I am a Nazareth Refugee..... Still communicate with most of those I met there.. I attended every Naz Race since its inception.

I got to 4700 posts at 7G in 4 years but my volume declined in the last year so I wasn't really trying anymore. But Historians use my pronouncements in there research! ;)

TravelGal
02-14-04, 03:21 PM
Since a few more people are reading this thread, I'll post here what I posted in Feedback. I need a new name! I'm known as TravelGal quite a few places on the net so I chose that when I registered at 7G without realizing the implications of being TG! When I registerd here 13 months ago, TravelGal was not accepted so I chose TravelCART. It seemed lame but at least acceptable. Now, I need another one before my post count goes up. I'd like TravelPro but TP is sort of synonymous with TG, don't ya think? Anyway, TravelGuy suggests "something with no gender attached." I'll decide by Monday and post here. Please PM me if you have any (printable) suggestions so we don't junk up this thread any more than I already have. THX.

Kiwifan
02-14-04, 04:12 PM
Kiwifan, here, there, everywhere! ;) My only mistake was KIWIFAN at 7G when I was just so excited to be part of the gang I had caps lock on when I registered. :o

Rusty.

TrueBrit
02-14-04, 04:28 PM
I used to be "Buttmacher is a dirty cheating bastard", but changed it to 'TrueBrit' so that people wouldn't think I've got a 'thing' against Germans.... ;)

Lizzerd
02-14-04, 05:08 PM
Lizzerd checking in. I used to be quite active at 7G from November '99 to about a year and a half ago.

Lizzerd checking in. I used to be quite active at 7G from November '99 to about a year and a half ago.
Yo, Lizzerd... one last time for the good old days....
I know we have been through this before, but one more time.
Are you the Lizzerd from Racelink days, when we used to blast the knucklehead Dano ? Me (Herb Tea), Manic Mechanic, ABFan, and the poster formerly known as Lizzerd. Are you he \ him?
If not, then I apologize, but I seem to have a vague memory that I got this wrong when we all landed at 7G back in Fall '99....

Anyway, for the record, I was herbtea at 7G, as well as a LONG time ago at Racelink, and now I will post here as Winston Wolfe. Back in the day when Honda was winning everything in CART, I was in my heyday as an associate of Honda, and had a free reign of pretty much everything that was CART for any of the races on the West Coast. I abused, errrrr, I mean took advantage of that oppportunity the best I could, and have many good memories. Now I am just another regular, paying CART fan, and enjoy it just as much.....

btw - I have never acknowledged Laguna\Wickerbill to thank him for letting us all in, and giving his time for hosting\moderating what appears to be a really strong group of true CART fans.
THANKS !

manic mechanic
02-14-04, 05:54 PM
Manic is manic on all but 2 websites. Yahoo wouldn't let me have manic mechanic, so I went with Mercenary36 (occupation + age when I registered), and I'm known as crabman on buffettnews.com (any parrothead that has seen me at a show knows why). :D

WB, I think that this thread should be amended to include what your screen names are elsewhere on the net. Most people are volunteering that info anyways.

Of course, I'm not buying the crap about Wilke, franklin, etc.

Racing Truth

Racing Truth here, at 7G, and TF.

And thanks to WB for letting us in, esp. on Jan. 28 when nothing else worked.

02-14-04, 06:51 PM
BobN here and everywhere else I post. :)

Anteater
02-14-04, 07:05 PM
What a good idea to post this topic; it is quite a revelation! Were you really Silva, Jag_Warrior, or are you having us on??? Jag_Warrior is a much pleasanter guy than Silva.

I have a t-shirt that says "ONCE AN ANTEATER, ALWAYS AN ANTEATER". For those who don't know, the mighty anteater is the mascot of my alma mater, UC Irvine, and this slogan is certainly true in my case.

Lizzerd

THANKS !

Yep, it's me. I was Brickhead at Racelink. You, manic, whoever, steered me to 7G when the villiage idiot finally became unbearable. Brickhead was taken at 7G (thank goodness). For an unmoderated, no-registration forum, Racelink was a nice place for a while. It was the first board I stumbled on. Didn't know they existed till then. I played their Fantasy Leagues for a couple years, F1, NASCAR, and CART, and overall, I may have even made some money. I check in there every few weeks or so and post anonymously sometimes. Dano has been oddly quiet since the buyout.

Railbird
02-14-04, 08:24 PM
Railbird here.

been that way since the winter of 96/97.

mello
02-14-04, 08:42 PM
mello everywhere although some might say that is not always true :D

anait
02-14-04, 09:09 PM
I'm anait everywhere I post. :D It's my real first name backwards - another one of those creative pseudonyms, eh?? :p

dando
02-14-04, 09:31 PM
Well, y'all know me as me from 7G. Pen name in honor of an Opus strip from Berk Breathed's Outland. Glad to have the new digs. The place and folks are kinda growing on me. :)

L1P1
02-14-04, 10:09 PM
Still L1P1, same as 7G. But remeber the old IRACE/Speedvision boards? I wrote every single post. Really. ;) ;) ;) :gomer:

Railbird
02-14-04, 10:37 PM
But remeber the old IRACE/Speedvision boards?

Oh yeah, after lurking/*****footing around elsewhere for a while the old TSN/iRace board was where I came to terms with all this nonsense.

C2D
02-14-04, 11:05 PM
My old handle at 7G was cart2day. An imposter here already took it so I just used the initials. :D

eiregosod
02-14-04, 11:06 PM
I'm known as SOD at 7G /MSF(AR1) & Crapwagon , I dont want to get banned at TF so I wont reveal that identity here!

Railbird, i do remember the Irace/SV boards. lots of knowledgable people there, indeed there was a lot of squabbling there but hey!!
Was " '_____' Defender of the IRL " our furry friend whom is known as Defender at TF?

02-15-04, 12:04 AM
I was going to register as "Wussy" here but it appears that a certain Mr. O'Gorman beat me to it. ;)

02-15-04, 01:06 AM
Fitti Fan=Fitti Fan=soon to be Mrs. BMEP

Not to be confused with Fitti Nut, although she's now RHR Fan and 20+ years my junior.

Good to see you Corky!

02-15-04, 01:35 AM
Hi All. Hope to see you in chat during the race weekends.

As I have a tough enough time remembering anything nowadays, its Mark521 everywhere.

Jag_Warrior
02-15-04, 02:27 AM
What a good idea to post this topic; it is quite a revelation! Were you really Silva, Jag_Warrior, or are you having us on??? Jag_Warrior is a much pleasanter guy than Silva.

It would've hurt so much less if you'd believed the Go'auld part (glowing eyes, riding around in spaceships, developing an evil plan to destroy Earth... that sorta thing - great show, BTW!). But Silva??? I promise... the only thing that Silva and I had in common was the fact the we were both Ayrton Senna da Silva fans - that's where he said his handle actually came from. I usually got a kick out of Silva (and Hoop98, Indycool, Wilke, Jane Magaso and most of the trolls), but me no Silva - me promise. I'd rather be a Go'auld.

But in happier times, I was Tifosi at MSNBC. There I met Tall1 (have you folks greeted Tall1?) and he turned me on to 7G. MSNBC was a VERY unique place - probably the most personal board I've ever posted on. CART, IRL, F1, NASCAR, sports car, WRC, drag racing and all other fans posted there - and we coexisted pretty well... all on ONE board. The unique thing about MSNBC was we saw it as OUR board. If (for instance) a "foreign" NASCAR fan started trouble with one of our NASCAR "bros"... the CART and F1 fans all participated in the beat down (as a group, we weren't just good... we were d@mn good! ). It was truly like a family. We would often fight amongst ourselves, but we defended each other from outsiders who sought to tear up the board. After Earnhardt was killed, we were over-run by all manner of riff-raff... and the board died an ugly death. 7G's demise wasn't nearly as sad as what I saw at MSNBC. But I hope nothing but good things come to Off Camber. And if all it takes is a few coins in the pot to keep this board going strong, I'm all for it!

Michaelhatesfans
02-15-04, 03:57 AM
Well, I'm still me, obviously - although if nothing else the demise of 7G is good in the sense that all records of The Gin Incident are forever lost. ;)

But on the subject of name changes, I've got a small issue with Wickerbill. I'm sorry, but to me, you'll always be a Gurney flap. :p

Forza Lancia
02-15-04, 10:01 AM
After a few days of wandering in the the post-7G wilderness, I'm happy to have found everybody here. I've kept the same name.

02-15-04, 11:26 AM
Well, I'm still me, obviously - although if nothing else the demise of 7G is good in the sense that all records of The Gin Incident are forever lost. ;)

Oh....there are still a few of us around who carry on the recollection of The Gin Incident, Mhf....that's the kind of thing a person could live a very long time before ever living down!

...and yes, I am Gangrel from 7G, though more of you probably know me from the chat rooms than from the forums.

Miljax
02-15-04, 11:29 AM
Miljax here, Miljax there... I never wanted that to be my name, it has a meaning for my best friend, but not me... i stuck with it anyhow, brave soul that I am...

devilmaster
02-15-04, 11:55 AM
Fitti Fan=Fitti Fan=soon to be Mrs. BMEP

I thought he'd become Mr. Fitti Fan instead.... ;)

Anyways, I've been Devilmaster since about 12 years old when I got my first modem and I bbs'ed. (the name doesn't mean anything, it sounded cool my 12 year old self, and i'm too lazy to give a damn to change it)

I'm FerrariGod, from the FerrariGods of Florida, we are an ancient tribe dedicated to making little Englishmen crazy with jealousy for our racing spirit :)

Honeslty though, I'm the 7thgear Ferrarigod, but my real name is Patrick, so call me whatever you want just don't call me late for dinner.

Oh yea, and thanks for banning Poly Sci threads, theres nothign more that I hate than arguing with TB on the F1 threads then moving to the off forum to cry the day away

FCYTravis
02-15-04, 04:56 PM
I was originally railpax @ CW, 7G and TF... but somehow (:D) that name got banned from both 7G and TF.

When I became a flagger in March of last year, I thought a new handle would be more appropriate... so I picked this one, which sort of backhandedly alluded to my new occupation. I've used it for all new forum registrations for a long time, and yesterday I changed my handle at CW.

So now I'm FCYTravis here and at CW, TF, PT, SCCAForums, IMSATalk/ALMS Forums and zillions of other boards across the Internet...

My chat nickname, however, remains railpax.

MAXAR RE
02-16-04, 11:29 AM
I am MAXAR RE on any board or chat I participate in. Depending on the login/programming restrictions/limitations of the various forums and shat programs, though, you may also see me as MAXAR_RE or maxarre.

If I had to choose a different name, it would be "shutupcartman"

If I die, I would like to be reincarnated as an underwear ngome. :D

Racewriter
02-16-04, 01:15 PM
I'm Racewriter everywhere, except for 4m.net and SpeedNet. On 4m.net,
"Racewriter" was taken, so I went with "Racewriter98" - added my car number.

On Speednet, through some AOL issues, the "Racewriter" handle is in cyberlimbo, so I'm "Racewriter-T."

I suspect most handle-changers wouldn't admit it on a thread like this one...

A celebration of truebrit involving Boddingtons should never involve merely "a Boddington's"...Excess consumption is required...TrueBrit doesn't so much drink Boddington's as he "manipulates the supply of Boddington's". Inside tip: Buy their stock before the April reunion...

oddlycalm

When this place started I used oddlycalm which is my longtime usenet/forum handle. I was Taildragger at 7G, which was the handle I picked up when my Stinson was the only non tri-gear plane hangered at a particular airport.

For the first few months of Off Camber I added aka taildragger to my signiture, but as the posters here mostly knew me, I stopped doing that long ago.

I was Rasefan on 7G, famous for my Cart Sim posts. I'm Dougrun when I race online and on paddocktalk. I think the only other place I'm still rasefan is HighGear. Since we dont have sigs enabled, you can always see my site at http://www.cartmods.net

This board suits me perfectly. Nonsensical posting is kept to a minimum and you don't find those clowns who see fit to pepper every post with mutiple smilies in some half-baked attempt to express derision.

Note to self.... Refrain from using smilies in half baked attempt to express derision! ;) Also keep nonsensical posting to a minimum!

WTF am I gonna do now!!! ;);)

unimaginative 1st inital of first name concatenated with last name. Been that way everywhere since 95 on speednet.

was CARTrules at 7G; not a big poster there by any means, but was mildly amused when I moved up from rookie status to racer (?). Don't suppose I'll ever lose the rookie status here. But I lurk daily. I gotta get my fix. Esp. when there's news on Jeemy.

re: the name -- not very imaginative either time. and now sadly out of date. but so it goes.

7G was the first forum I joined -- this my second. Oh, wait -- make my first one the Copyeditors listserve. (Where we discuss whether anal-rententive should have a hyphen or not. It's a real happenin' place!!  )

I yam what I yam, but you're welcome to guess,
I lurked for the last several months, I confess,
I was on 7G for more than three years,
Where I laughed with the laughs, and cried with the tears.

If all else fails, ask Jen. ;)

Okay, "Rudy" reporting for duty sir!

Was "Rudy" at 7G (member #454, registered in April 1999) but have been in lurk mode over there for the past year or so. For the real old-timers, I was "Rudy in Pittsburgh" on RIS on CompuServe ages ago.

Thanks WB for the site even though I'll most likely will be a lurker here too. One thing though -- I'm most happy that you chose vBulletin software for the boards. One of the main reasons I stopped frequenting the boards at 7G was because I hated not having the "go to first unread post" feature and I could never figure out why they wouldn't migrate things over to this (superior) software to save us all a bunch of valuable time.

Thanks again!

Now let's get on with the racing!!

RTKar
02-17-04, 01:01 PM
RTKar ( my initials- RTK & "ar" for auto racing) started on Speednet, then 7thG under a different name, member #24 or so, didn't post much and Lord knows what happened but I ended up as RTKar member # 550, came here after being invited in Jan 03, lurked at CW for a long time and should have registered sooner there but finally did last year..had to show my support for a TG free open wheel racing world. I really miss the environment of the original 7th G. I couldn't wait to read about what was up but the place got too big for it's britches IMHO...bigger isn't always better. Although OC hasn't had the most activity, it's a great place and after all, how much do we need to beat a dead horse anyway?

I've been mapguy (or mapguy V2.1 on 7G, CW and the Brownshirt forum) for as long as I've been posting. I was, rightfully, banned from 7G a few years ago for making a personal attack on one of our newest members here. That is one thing that I still regret to this day. I can't beleive what an ass I was. One of these days I would like to get a chance to buy him a cold one and offer to fix his furnace.... But he lives in California and I don't know much about A/C units yet. ;)

well let me take the opp to appologize to mapguy for flaming him back a few years ago when he showed back up at 7thG without the "2.1"

this was back in the name jumper days, he had an obvious low post count and I was in a sheety mood.

Me in a sheety mood?

sorry mappy

You? No. ;)

No worries. I can't even remember it. But I was a buttpipe back then so I probably deserved it.

So does that mean when I finally get to Indy you'll buy me a pint?

More importantly do they sell real beer in the Flag Room during the movie nights?

real beer?

How would I know?

I'm a High Life drinker

I have seen some funny colored swill dribbling out of the spigots though

Could be a good race to see who'd show up in Indy quicker. ;)

Ok, this is as good a place for my first post as any.
Over on 7G I was IheartTurbos. Changed my name to PlanMan to protect the inocent.

I've been lurking here off and on and was most impressed on the big court date when OC stayed online while all the other forums crashed out. Glad to see so many familiar faces here now!
