Why would you want that phone number? For every one person who thinks its funny, there would be another 10 who would disregard it as being a fake.

Seeing as probably none of us are familiar with the 20 or so digits you have to dial before dialing that number from the US, I can't imagine theres much for you to worry about. ;)

don't make assumptions just because no one ever wants to dial your 10 digits.

and this auction just made headline news while I was channel surfing, 6K apparently, wtf wastes 6K on that?

Someone must _really_ enjoy getting prank calls.

I think the name of the band was Tommy Tutone...anyway, i remember watching VH1, and they got into a lot of heat because of that. I don't remember if they were sued at the time or not.

Yup. I think every person who has access to e-mail should be forced to go here before forwarding anything. ;)

Ditto. My mother used to forward any and every crazy story she got via email. I would look it up on snopes or other hoax buster sites and reply with a link.

I couldn't teach the old dog a new trick (how to look it up herself), so she eventually would ask me to check it out before she would forward something.

A few years ago, my dad would come home and tell me about the latest "virus/danger" and I would tell him it was fake. We'd proceed to argue for 15 minutes while he insisted the IT guy and secretary at work said so. After all he worked for a huge multinational comapny and I was a mere student in college. Of course they know best! Lots of fun.

I would imagine in the big $$$$ world of 1-900 numbers, Girls Gone Wild videos, and porn by phone, it would be easy to make big coin with a number like this. (Uh, at least from what I hear )

Over $80K this AM. The local news showed a clip w/it over $90K, so a bid or so must have been disallowed.
