IPower series - used to be the Goody's Dash Series.

Track worker killed while cleaning up debris during a caution.

Prayers and sympathies. :(

Sad story. Sounds to me like they either don't have proper safety procedures in place for the course workers or they weren't followed.

At Indy back in the 90's, maybe 92 or 93, Buddy Lazier came around turn 4 way too hot during a yellow and almost clipped a course worker that was on the track directing traffic. The next time around Buddy was much slower and the guy shook his fist as he went past.It happened right in front of me. Buddy was definitely to blame. Had the guy been hit , it would have been a gruesome thing to have witnessed. I haven't seen any tape of the incident that happened Sunday but I'm sure some lawsuits will be filed. Sounds to me like the driver was racing to catch the pack. What I don't understand is mentioning he's a parapalegic, as if that caused the accident. What a sad way to start the racing season.

I don't mean to nit-pick, but he is a paraplegic. Big difference. :)

Sad, indeed.
