I remember my 21st birthday... I was in college and living off campus with a room mate. We were on quarters instead of semesters, so finals time was the end of February. Anyway, my room mate and I (he was a bit older than me) took a break from studying at midnight and went to the local neighborhood pub (not a "college bar"). We bellied up to the bar in our usual spots. I asked the bartender, don't remember his name, if he gave free birthday drinks. He said "sure!". I showed him my ID. I had been 21 for about five minutes. He looked back at me with a scowl and said "well... you Son of a B****"
