"It was actually fun, because you're back fully driving again in these trucks. Ninety percent of the tracks we go to in the IRL, you're flat-out. I was having to lift off the corners some here."

Welcome to the pros, Buddy.

And if he wins in Trucks, race fans will actually know who he is.

That's a very sad statement for the IRL.....saying that you have to "drive" the vehicle more in the truck races than the EARL.... sheesh. :shakehead

it's a very sad statement that more people will know who he is after a CTS win than after any openwheel win in America outside of maybe Marion county Indiana.

A classic post a few years back at 7thGear concluded that the poster would "eat a bullet" if the Trucks ever became more popular than CART.

I haven't heard from him lately so I have to fear the worst.

despite the fact that they are more popular that CART, truck racing is just silly. I don't get the appeal of them. But we all know it's the NASCAR branding that does it.

I thought it was pretty silly when they raced the mini pickups with SCCA sanctioning for a few years in the 80s. With hindsight, however, that made a little bit more sense than putting pickup metal on a NASCAR tube frame.

I can think of worse ways to lose one's individuality and conform to the collective:

You fail to appreciate 7 of 9's inner beauty as a Borg. ;)

On the other hand, DNFisher has none whatsoever... poor kid.

It took me a minute to figure out which one was Sarah. I finally recognized the Raybestos logo on the shirt. ;)

Starts 33rd with a provisional. Qualified DFL, 3.2 seconds off the pole - about 10%.

In the 24 preceding races in that truck, Matt Crafton was 11th in points with 11 top 10 finishes.
