Good interview. I may one day get interested in CART like I used to be.

Q: The team owners came out of your meeting at Miami looking pretty happy, and the fans are going to happy if a schedule comes out, but if (the deal) still hangs in the balance until the proxy....

PG: "We’ve done our homework. There are two Web pages trumpeting the bad news. They have kind of toned it down, because if you tell a lie and it affects somebody’s business, you leave yourself pretty liable. We don’t have any problem with people telling the truth, but if you tell a lie about us and it causes damage, we’re going to look for redress on that damage somewhere down the line. So, just tell the truth and we’ll all be friends.

Which website is PG referring to?

IMO, Indystar.com and AR1. TF is too indycentric to be considered.

Now THIS caught my eye...

"Tony (George) and I don’t have a problem. We’ve talked about the ground rules here and there are some. It might not be Marquis of Queensbury, but we’re not Mike Tyson either. We don’t bite each other’s ears off."

Does he understand that if there was one series that there would be 34 cars and 20 good races?

"I’ve said that. He didn’t take notes, but I said to him, ‘Between the two of us there will be 20 good events and 30 good cars. Imagine what people would pay to see that.’

Too bad TG doesn't see it because it'll be 18 CART races and 2 IRL. TG would be on the outside looking in again. Eight years of wasted hundreds of millions for nothing. CART takes it well establish series and props up the IRL events, just like old times...

That reminds me-what happened to paintergeek? "PG" were his initials first.

I seem to remember him saying (at 7G, pre-OffCamber) that he needed to take a break from the forums and the whole scene. That's been several months ago. Hope he's well.

This is disappointing. If Tony didn't take notes, it's unlikely he'll remember that the conversation ever happened.

That'd be the smart thing, Paul should realize who he's dealing with here, when they were handing out brains TG was out back taking a wiz.
