Well OK Jag,not really. It was one of those sports things he did, like pitch for the Tigers in perseason, or box with a famous boxer.

George Plimpton - Participatory Journalist - The patron saint of the Fantasy Camp (fantasy camp is where you get to play sports with hall of famers and such)

His exploits include, but are not limited to:

-Playing quarterback for the Detroit Lions - which is the famous 'Paper Lion' book and movie

-boxing against Archie Moore

-Pitching to Willie Mays

-driving an IndyCar

-performing as a trapeze artist in a circus

-creating 'Sidd Finch', a baseball hurler who pitch was clocked at 168 mph.

-One of the reporters who tackled and held down Sirhan Sirhan, seconds after he shot Bobby Kennedy.

A man who could tell a story, no doubt.

He had just signed a deal to do his memoirs. A book unfortunately, i'll never get to read now. :(
