Several different tire manufacturers will be running this weekend. Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Yokohama, Goodyear, Dunlop . . . .

How many laps does it take to get the Bridgestone rubber down over all the others? Does it really matter . . . is rubber just rubber?

As long as there isn't also any Passion Berry Gel (http://www.trojancondoms.com/lube/) also on the track, won't be anything a number of laps can't cure. :D

I think the rubber will be cleaned off due to the weather and won't be an issue.

As funny as the responses are, it's not a bad question, weather not withstanding.

Rubber's not rubber, in that the compounds used by other manufacturers won't help the Bridgestone tires get grip. More likely, the track will be a little bit greasy for the first 15 - 20 laps untils the Bridgestones 'rubber in'.
