View Full Version : Just when you thought you'd heard every excuse in the book...

Maybe the most unusual and original excuse came from Junqueira, who ran second on Saturday with a 1:19.671 lap, 0.006 second off the pole time.

“There was a restroom (actually, a Port-O-Let) in the pit lane that I stopped at every time before practice and qualifying,” Junqueira explained. “Today before qualifying when I went to use that restroom, it was gone. So I probably weighed a pound more than yesterday. I was only off by six thousandths of a second, so maybe that one pound was the difference!” :saywhat:

I SURE HOPE Junquera was joking!

I'm sure he was, I think, maybe, possibly, must be, of course he is but really not sure! ;)

He had to be joking.

I don't know why not having a porta potty was a problem, just go pee on a tree or in a bucket someplace.

I can testify to this. Happens to me every morning. It goes like this. Coffee, smoke, bowels, bingo. One pound lighter. Or more...

I don't mean to piss on your post, PhoneChic (with all due respect to RaceGrrl for stealing her phrase), but if he had a catheter, wouldn't the car and driver still weigh the same? :)

Methinks Junky was making jokey.

The black and blue (well, ok, faded to a dull yellow) bruises on my arm indicate that in fact I DO know when you are mad!! :D
