The Mansfield News Journal always does a bang up job race weekend. Make sure you check out www.mansfieldnewsjournal.com and click on local sports.

As far as The Lima News, I will be at the track all weekend, but only filing a story on Sunday. Unfortunately, Mid-Ohio comes so close to the start of high school football, which is king around here, all my time is taken with season preview stuff. :(

Hope to see some of you there.

The Mansfield News Journal people always have excellent coverage of the CART racing. I make sure to buy all the papers on race weekend.

In addition to the good coverage, they have also arranged a meeting place for race fans to congregate, and have given away some cool prizes and hosted autograph sessions.

Look for their tent in the infield at MidOhio this weekend, and say thanks to them for the great job they do of promoting our favorite series. :)

"We offer a whole different set of dynamics. I don't consider the IRL any competition at all. I just want them to go do their thing and leave us alone," CART CEO Chris Pook said at another fan gathering, stopping for applause. "We are not going to be drug into that fight. We have moved away."The funny thing is that when Pook said this the Lemming faithful attacked him for his past slams on the IRL and claimed that the IRL is minding their own business.

Since then IRL teamowners have gone on record as coveting over a half dozen CART events, including more than a few of those hated street parades, and the series "visionary" has slagged CART's engine supplier.

When the principals can't move on, how can the fans? Bingo.
