I'm rooting for Colton to get enough points to be eligible for a super license (it's absolutely ridiculous that indy car doesn't get the same points as even formula 3, but that's a discussion for another posting) so that he could make the switch to F1 with Cadillac next year. I think he only needs to finish 4th in the standings this year, but the way he's going that's looking like a long shot. Is he trying too hard, has it gotten inside his head, is he just having a run of bad luck? What's the answer, can he pull it out?

I don't have any hate for Herta (I don't really like him either) but that said, I agree that there's shouldn't be any artificial obstacles to his getting a seat in F1. If you're within 107%, you're in the race. If not, you're not. IMO.
The points system favors F2 over IndyCar. It’s been that way for years. To be honest, if an IndyCar driver really wanted to get a super license, staying in IndyCar isn’t the best way to do that. Unless that driver is on Ganassi’s or Penske’s teams since both have dominated since 2013.

American Jak Crawford won the Imola F2 sprint race today. So it can be done. I’d expect him in F1 before Herta

Btw, he drives for the Lucas Oil Dams team. Lucas Oil is based in Indianapolis.:tony:

Herta will have stiff competition to be the American to move up to F1.
