FORECAST DISCUSSION (https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/forecast-discussion)

Looks a little more north than what was predicted yesterday. If you view it and can take pictures, your best results will come with a tripod mounted camera and a lengthy exposure. In fact, the longer the exposure, the more pronounced the aurora will be in your photo.

We drove around last night trying to find some dark skies and didn't manage to spot them. :( Lots of other photos from the area though.

That giant sunspot that supercharged auroras on Earth? It's back and may amp up the northern lights with June solar storms.

Meteorologists have predicted this fall to be the height of northern lights for some years to come. Something to think about if any of you are still planning September or October vacations.

Thought it was to be last night, but not according to the Aurora app. Which is pretty cool. Provides a forecast of the probability of seeing the lights at your location. It can provide alerts if imminent.
