“There are just a lot of considerations,” he said. “I would say the bid in the ask is [between] 22 and 27 [entries]; 22 is the traditional [amount of] Leaders Circle [contracts], and 27 is the most we can accommodate on the grid at our races outside of Indianapolis.

I've seen chatter elsewhere that this also would guarantee that all Leaders Circle teams would make every race. Boy does this sound familiar. We'll see soon enough.

IndyCar owners weigh guaranteed Indy 500 entries as part of new membership program (https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/motor/indy-500/2024/02/05/indycar-considering-guaranteed-indy-500-entries-full-time-teams-25-8-rule-the-split-penske/72442795007/)

Full-time teams – particularly those holding spots within the series’ Leaders Circle – should be guaranteed starting spots in the Indianapolis 500.

Traditions and passionate fans be damned.

To be fair, there is a tradition of this at Indy.

I'm surprised they've managed to stretch it to two weeks.
