That would be interesting, however, I doubt it would ever happen. The city folks complain about the disruption from the NASCAR event, F1 would be worse. There's serious talk for the possibility of a new ballpark for the White near downtown too which may complicate the matter.

Did you see that NASCAR is throwing an extra $2 million at the city? Has Chicago become a hot (remaining) destination for street races?

Yup, saw that. The city would be a great back drop for a race but I'm not sure of the politics and financials of it all.

Makes me wonder if there was more to this now

With races in Austin, Miami & Vegas, a 4th US F1 race? A contract negotiation tactic?

If so, that would be COTA. F1 is there through 2026.

Or is this a negotiating move in general against any track on the schedule?

Who knows but it's another step towards F1 being totally awful to watch

Ahhhhh, I wondered about that at the time. To get more fans; to get SOME fans? Now it makes more sense.

Not sure how the permanent garage requirement will work, maybe share with NASCAR?

Hope they run on Lower Wacker

The “Damn we didn’t think it would snow” GP

Need the full Midwest springtime experience.

Race Start: Sunny, southwest winds to 20 mph, temp 71 deg F

15 min in, front passes

30 min after start: Cloudy, Northeast wind to 35 mph, rain/snow squalls off the lake, temp 42 deg F and dropping.
