Not surprised. It's impossible to know from one day to the next where or whether you'll be allowed in.

Yeah - I mean. China's a crazy place right now.
I have a friend who is working as an ex-pat in the Oil&Gas industry in China. I told him if he needs to get out, just run to the airport, fly to Miami, we'll pick you up, and you can stay at my house as long as you need.

Crazy times. Crazy.

Bluntly I'm surprised the FIA tried to put China on the calendar at all...but the (potential) money was probably too tantalizing to pass up.

Better luck next time.

Maybe the FIA had to schedule it knowing full well it was likely to be cancelled so that when it did get cancelled insurance would cover some of the sanction fees.

My understanding is that the FIA has no control over the calendar as it's based on commercial agreements between promoters and FOM. The FIA's job is to sanction the race if the required conditions are met (which is basically that the circuit meets the standard and certain required people are nominated for positions)

You’re right. I used the wrong organization.

Team Principal silly season:

Vassuer leaves Alfa for Ferrari.
Seidl leaves McLaren for Alfa.
Capito leaves Williams, also for Alfa.
McLaren names STELLLAAAA.
Williams left holding the bag, at least for now.

Rumors already swirling that Seidl will bring Lando with him to Alfa/Audi in due time.

Can the Swiss and the Germans put up with that much moaning and whinging? He has to be the worst for it in the entire paddock
