It's always felt to me that if they would tighten up / slow down 16, passing would be more abundant on the main straight.

When they put that awful chicane in prior to Turn 16 they actually reduced the amount of passing down the front straight

Felt bad that Lando had his lap dis-allowed.
We'll see how the race goes tomorrow.

I hate that LEC broke down but I love the randomness that attrition brings to races. I doubt if those days will ever return again :\

random thoughts:

The thing about this race as Swift and I chatted while we watched was that Leclerc and Zhou went out, russell did have temp warnings.. and the heat and wind caused verstappen and sainz to spin.

As we get into the summer, the higher temps may play a little more into this. But I suspect that teams will be ready for the heat next time.

Spain still has only 1 true drs zone for passing. Even though its a new car Mclaren still needs the power tracks to have any chance of challenging.

The real depressing thing I noticed was that when two cars were in line, it looked like the following car washed out -alot-. This new car was hyped to be able to follow properly but the long right sweeper seemed repeatedly that the 2nd car never could follow in line.

For a car that still seems to have issues, Hamilton showed a great drive to come back to 5th (even 4th for a lap or two). deserved DOTD.

Bottas ran a great race till the team's strategy failed him at the end.

I was thinking the same thing. Also that Hamilton deserved driver of the day. He's not my favorite person but he took that turkey and drove the wheels off.

He's having a good year regardless.
We'll get 'em next week.
