Super impressed by KMag's 4th place. Goes to show that ALL racing series should be changing specs (and thereby implicitly rewarding innovation) MUCH more than they do.

In other news I hear that ICS will be using the DW12 for the foreseeable future and can't even get 33 cars for this year's 500 as a result. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned here.:shakehead::rofl:

Considering Senna's car bottomed out causing his steering issue entering Tamburello, I'd be concerned about car control and porpoising at an old school track like Imola.

Rain...the great equalizer.
Should be interesting if the forecast comes true.

edit: And regarding the pit-lane start for Zhou - could be a blessing if the weather forecast comes true.

It's really wild to see Hamilton start and finish 14th absent major incident.

I was a little disappointed that Joe Brand New didn't recover more positions from the pit lane start after the initial SC.
Red Bull had it going on today.

Miami up next!

P.S. - Bottas' crew with a alow stop...where have I seen that before :shakehead:

Can't help but think the cars and speeds have outgrown tracks like this, sadly. Rain, drying conditions, cars can actually follow, and (to my eyes) it was a really dull race.

BUT
The first lap incidents (including the Alonso contact) probably hindered things.
I agree that it wasn't the best race in the world - but not all will be barnburners. If some teams had taken a chance on slicks a few lap earlier it may have shaken out a little better.

Seemed like all teams were on the same strategy. Not sure but I don’t recall any discussion about differing execution during the race. Possibly governed by the early threat of rain which never occurred so every team was racing towards that expected arrival. And when it didn’t they all went to slicks at the same time. By then everyone was essentially too deep into the race to try anything different.

Regardless I’d do like the flow of this track.

Was I the only one getting sick of Crofty and Paul "miserable" di Resta banging on about how unfair it was to not have DRS? I thought the overtakes early in the race without DRS were much more exciting

I thought they were right, but I'm not nearly as anti-DRS as you are... I'm sure it really stuck in your craw.

I'm also pretty sure that phrase doesn't translate outside of the US

You were not. Say it and give it up already. Sheesh.
