Happy to have the conversation here, but gimmicks are bad. This is the "pinnacle of motorsport" - reward the fastest driver and car. Don't put band-aids over the issues... fix the issues. The 2022 regs and cost caps are a good start.

Plus, can you imagine the carnage if you put EVERY fast car in the back?

The first couple races, it might be interesting.... But like every other sport that does gimmicks (see hockey overtime, indy in the 90s and 2000s) they will figure out how to use strategy to win.

If Lewis starts last, and the merc is better in open air, you start slow, let everyone lead, and start picking off single cars. If he gets behind a group, pit. Put him back last, and in open air again. All he needs to do is stay relatively close to 20-25 seconds behind the leader. everyone else pits, you get the lead in a massive undercut and push to hold the lead.

The first instinct should always be competitive purity. Anything that prevents that should be deleted
