Taken from my front step just a bit ago. Somehow a blood-red sky peppered with bats seems apropo for 2020. A couple of the outlying towns are gone, and there's a shelter set up at the State Fairgrounds just a couple of blocks from my home for all of the evacuees from the surrounding areas. We're most likely safe here in the capitol city, but from the coast range clear through to the Cascades, Mt. Hood all the way down to Ashland, things are a real mess. High temperatures and high winds are doing a number on my beloved home state.
