Dude saw a lot. On and off the track. Not many have such failure and success in two different worlds. Love him or hate him, he was an original. It's unfortunate he had to go through all the issues of the last year only for this to happen in the end.

I remember seeing him on the LBGP coverage when I was first taking an interest in auto racing. This was post-accident and he was out of the race and being a jerk in his interview. I wondered, geesh what's this guy's story? All you could get back then was a few races and some highlights on TV along with On Track or Autoweek two weeks later, so it took a while before I learned his backstory. Definitely one of a kind.
