Does anyone know of a good book(s) on the history of open wheel racing in the US. Not F1, the history of US open wheel leading up to & including CART.

I did some Amazon searching and didn't come up with much. There are a few books about cars or specific eras but no overall history.

There's a book about Penske's Indy stock block secret weapon that looks interesting.

I thought somebody did a book about The Split? Could have sworn I saw one at some point.

There are books on the split but what I'm looking for is the 1956-2004 period.

Thanks for bumping this up. Just got it with a Kindle promo credit I needed to use.
