So I watches the race from Santiago yesterday, I does. First time for me for Formula E. It reminds me of the first time I watched Australian rules football. Lots of participants, madly going at it, excitable announcers, with me having no friggin' clue what the rules are. Franchitti tries his best to make it race, Vasha sounds terrible (is he ill?), the other dude makes Leigh Diffey sound like he's on prozac. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get a hint of what all the arrows and numbers (besides the % charge left) along the left side mean? Thanks.

Best advice: Run away. Worst excuse for motorsport I've ever seen. Monster Trucks are more interesting

I see by my automated "record series" that Formula E is starting up again. A friend sent me a pretty simplistic article about Bird's simulator but I did get a kick out of "the drivers that have the smaller capacity to think during the race normally make mistakes or don’t finish towards the front.” https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2019/11/20/30-minutes-formula-e-driver-inside-virgin-racings-brand-new/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_em

Glutton for punishment that I am, I watched the opening races from Saudi Arabia. Maybe someone from Formula E read my post from last year (haha) because this year, there is all sorts of explanation of what the blue blazes is going on (no pun intended). It serves to let you understand how boring this really is. I find it pleasantly sleep inducing, the shouting and from Dario and his cohort, notwithstanding. What I did find interesting was how Porsche and Mercedes started off so well and how many constructors they have. Mikey was also looking quite fit. Lost a pound or two, I'd say. :)

I should probably try and catch one on my DVR. I used to hit the electric drags at the local dragstrip, not at all the same as traditional stuff but still very, very cool, both from an engineering and a sights/sounds/smells angle. Can't be any lamer than half the Lucas Oil swamp buggy type stuff that passes for motorsports.

Hard to get past this subtitle. "I cover the theme park industry and the business of Formula One" Still, a good, if wordy, summary. Sort of funny to see them "learning" stuff CART/Champ Car already knew.

What do you make of this? One series is barely breaking even after 6 six years and then this? "Agag remains Formula E’s chairman but he is also launching a new electric off-road championship called Extreme E. It is not a direct rival to Formula E but could still dent its exclusivity."
