So NTT has taken over as title sponsor of Indycar. Nice new TV contract and they have to go from Verizon to NTT. Maybe NTT was willing to pay, but it seems weird and a step down for an American series.

By all accounts (Robin Miller, Marshall Pruett) it's a step up. Verizon had done their dash although interestingly they are staying on to sponsor Will Power. I believe NTT has quite significant B2B relationships with a lot of motor industry participants too so that probably helps.

For the sponsors, it makes sense. Try it out at a low level first.
