I just heard that Dan Gurney has passed away, he was 86.

I met him once at Riverside Raceway back in the seventies.

May he rest in peace.

I just heard the news myself.
Very very sad.
RIP to a legend.

One of the great ones from an era where the great ones could drive anything. Great driver, great car guy, great team owner. I think it was a harbinger of doom that AAR couldn't make a go of it in CART.

Rest in peace.

Sad, but what contributions to racing he made. He certainly set the bar high.

Thanks for so many memories, and rest in peace.

Very sad news. Gurney was the last of a generation, the owner/builder/driver. Along with Jack Brabham and Bruce McLaren he was one of my favourites.

Trying to remember if I ever saw him drive. Don't think I did. I think he was out at McLaren in 1970 before the Can-Am got to Road America... I did SEE him at Road America once... We were both waiting for fresh brats. :)
