How Much Money the Teams Made in 2016 from FOM

Saw this today. I never really knew how it worked. In short, there's a bucket all teams split (as long as they were in the sport the last 2 years), another bucket divided up based on the finish in the championship and then other payments for various reasons like long standing team (Ferrari, nice name for Ferrari's lump sum), constructor's championships bonus (must be historical), heritage bonus (Williams only) and some other payments Red Bull got a bonus for signing the agreement first and Mercedes got the same payment by winning 2 championships.

At the end of the day, it works out to:

When Haas was in creation it was suggested that they would be better off buying team (Marussia, Caterham) in order to get payouts immediately.

Not sure how much a team costs, but looks like they would've received another $32M if they had.

They get $30M for the constructor's championship bonus. If you exclude all the bonuses, they aren't all that different. Certainly not the level you'd think listening to Matchett. You'd think finishing 5th over 8th would be huge, but it's "just" $14M.
