He was in some great films.

His collaborations with Mel Brooks are among the best comedic films ever (Producers, Saddles, Frankenstein). And his pairing with Pryor in Silver Streak and Stir Crazy was genius. He didn't make many movies, and according to the evening news tonight, he was quoted as saying he loved acting, but disdained Hollywood/ShowBiz.
