This one is hard to take. From early to mid-teens I heard songs Take it Easy and Witchy Woman and wondered why does this sound so much better than anything else? It was Talent. I saw them live only once, it was for The Long Run tour and was dumbfounded by just how good these guys were. While both are/were outstanding songwriters, I always liked Frey's songs better. He seemed to project more than Henley that Rock and Roll was supposed to be fun. He will be missed.

It's starting off to be a tough year for rock and roll. Dallas Taylor of CSNY and Dale Griffin of Mott the Hoople.

On the "I use to live in Youngstown, Ohio" Facebook page someone posted the below a couple months ago, a concert that I had heard of in the late 70s where the Eagles appeared in Youngstown in the early 70s as part of a band day at the local amusement park. This was a few months after they released their first album and single, and their second single, Witchy Woman, came out a week or two before this concert. Likely most here recognize the Rasberries and Looking Glass as well. Ramatam was a band with Mitch Mitchell of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Left End was about as big of a local band as you had in that area (their records would chart locally), other then maybe Glass Harp and the Human Beinz (my God, Left End has its own webpage, how many years later). I guess I missed by big "I saw them when . . ." moment by not being there (but I only would have been 11 anyways).
