Bar room rumor has it changing to a June date next year.

Bird, is that before or after the Montreal GP?

Third week from what I was told. It's now been reported on the Mike King radio show as a strong rumor.

The Gordon/Montoya swap proved that the "time to chanmge the track" excuse was a load ofr crap!

I'm thinking Bernie wanted it closer to the Canadian GP and I know IMS wanted more time between seasons for construction.

Close enough that it would save them the cost of another trip to North America?

montreal's usually the 2nd weekend in june, so if Indy's 3rd weekend it makes it 2 weeks in a row.

Moving the USGP to before/after the Canadian GP makes a lot of sense logistically. I never really understood why they didn't do it in the first place.

Remember when the season started out or had a mid-season part of either (start) US/Mexico/Brazil or (mid-season) Mexico/US/Canada...

Now all they have to do is move the location and they'd really be on to something. ;)

Well.... It's no longer (http://www.indystar.com/print/articles/5/056386-9045-106.html) a bar-room rumor.... October is a possiblity??? Talk about the chance to test out snow tires!

Even Mid-Ohio and the SCCA had the brains to move the Run-Offs to late September because of the good chance for really lousy weather.

Don't give either the track or SCCA credit for that. It was forced on them by the USGP schedule. Speed (Speedchannel) told SCCA it wouldn't be able to cover the Runoffs unless the date was moved to ease logistics problems the USGP created for covering Runoffs.
