Great logo. Someone's getting sacked in the morning.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for Vettel. Pirelli told them not to run the tires that long. Totally different issue than Nico's blowing up after 4 laps.

Vettel seems to have an expectation of complete safety that does not mesh with the reality of racing automobiles.

Does seem like the tires were just not up to the task in Spa... Two mysterious failures. Sure he went 27 laps. But the cords should show through before the tire lets go like that... People have run very long tire stints in the past... So it does seem like the tires just were not strong enough for eau rouge or something

I've seen some commentors claiming that Vettel had all four wheels off the racing line on the corner prior to the tire failure. Don't know if that's true or not but it makes you go Hmmmmm.

It seemed like he went over the curbs a bit oddly, kind of like how Hamilton did on the opening lap. I kind of thought that was it, not just that it wore out. I'm sure the wear contributed though.

The track is hell on tires, this is the bottom of Eau Rouge.

The announce crew kept blathering on aboot Eau Rouge also. But isn't that a LEFT tire? Both failures on the RIGHT rear?

That is the compressive part of the corner, both rears are doing the same thing at that point. No photos of the other side because you can't get the angle.
