Looks to be a mess, he stated that he was in home hospice but his daughter called the Police and had him hospitalized today. His manger has power of attorney and there is a huge battle brewing with the family. What a mess:snakehead:

Somewhere in there the man himself seems to be dying.

Damn shame if there is a power struggle going on. If so, I hope he isn't aware of it. His music has brought so much joy to so many for so long, he deserves to go in peace.

Very pleased to have had the opportunity to see BB perform, even it it was just once. I figured back then that it might be my only opportunity but he's really hung in there.

I was fortunate to see BB live many times starting in the mid-80s. He and his band always gave a great performance and the crowd always responded in kind. Even when diabetes set in and he had trouble standing for very much of the show, his playing and singing still delivered, even though seated. He is one of the last (and one of the best) from a great, great era of American music.

I've been fortunate enough to see him a few time as well, starting in the late '70s-early '80s. A fantastic performer. The last time I saw him I was pretty certain it was the last, sadly.

It was quite an education for young datachicane, who was in the habit of crashing backstage parties after shows, to learn that there was a very big difference between the security that most rock bands hired and the muscle that an old-school blues guy like BB traveled with. Never tried that at one of his shows again.

I was interested to read that BB had been a private pilot and a big Frank Sinatra fan. (He died on the same date as Sinatra)
He lived a long, great life. May he rest in peace.

RIP BB

I was interested to read that BB had been . . . a big Frank Sinatra fan.

OT, in the last week or two I heard an interview with Willie Nelson and he clearly is a huge Sinatra fan. That really took me by surprise.
