I'm looking for a decent-sized iphone dock/CD player. It's not for an audiophile, but it will be her primary sound system.

Specs:
rather compact/tidy. - It can be similar to the Bose Wave systems in size, but no extra cords.
Plays CDs - Old School.
Lightning connector/dock. - New School.
Extras like wi-fi, Bluetooth GOOD, but not necessary.
Enough sound to fill a kitchen + family room. - Does not need to be anywhere near Audiophile standards, but more than a tinny BT speaker.

Any ideas?

I'd rather stay away from Bo$e, but they really seem to have most of what I want (style-wise).

She has a Bose system, but not lightening and not CD player. She wants to be able to use her iPhone to play MP3's but also be able to put CDs in it, with no extra cords. She's too lazy to rip her CDs. ;)

Perhaps you should look for bluetooth systems instead of one with a dock? Something like this comes up from a quick search:
