Bob Akin's cars were always favourites of mine. His 935 braking at the end of the Andretti straight at Mosport belching flames is my first experience at a race track. I blame him for getting me hooked.

That's because it is. I was only 13 at the time with a 110 camera. It was the first pic I found with his 935 flaming.

Well, yeah...but guys like Craig Bennett and Jim Pace get to drive SO many of those great cars in vintage events, like that one you have from Laguna. He also CRUSHES the Can Am field at RA in the Shadow DN4 (?) and watching Pace in the John Paul Porsche and various Can Am McLarens and Lolas stir my race fan soul! Hooray for YouTube and "Jim Pace Motorsports"! (Best Played At Full Volume!":D:thumbup:)

I invite you to take 10 or 11 minutes of your off-season and punch in Jim Pace Motorsports "Road America JLP-HD1 Porsche", on YouTube....some of the best in-car, foot-cam, read-outs, commentary I've seen! VERY entertaining, even humorous. He was turning 2:13s by the end... and if you look for the clip of him racing Craig Bennett and Roger Williamson in the Can Am Qualifier (Pace is in the ex-Koveleski "Autoworld" M6b McLaren)...he did a 2:06...Not bad for a 1968 museum piece!

That RA Can Am race from '014 is on YouTube at "McLaren Road America Can Am Race Onboard Laps"...Pace was only down about 300 hp but I think you may agree he was "trying" harder!?:D

Nizmo all you have to to is copy the address from window you are watching the video then click on that video icon on the message window, it is the right-most of the five icons, and paste the address.

And it shows up in your post.

Leave him alone. He's old and set in his ways.

Good thing he can't hear this.

Why...you little:saywhat:...but I can still READ!...and LOOK, there IS life still on this forum! You may not WANT me to figure out how to post race vids here...a monster will have been created! It'll be "Welcome to Nizmo's Video Of The Week!"...It's not in Super HD but the clip of Shane vanGisbergen in a GT3 McLaren racing Bernd Schneider's Mercedes SLS and Mika Salo's Ferrari in the Bathurst 12 hr. last season is...uh...exciting?? Just fabulous cars, racing, drivers and TRACK! Yep, Giz...Op' OW's favorite driver!:p

Hmmm...I sense "unobtanium" with THAT one. Need somebody to make the TUSCC more fair, though....Oh, that IS a P2 for TUSCC? Good deal...time for me to start reading up on the new season!

Which chassis is underneath? The "Corvette" is just a body kit that will fit on any scrubbing bubble.

Actually I think it refers to the engine

Earnhardt Childress Racing Technologies-built 5.5-litre displacement Chevrolet Small Block V-8 (600 hp) in a Dallara chassis

the action Express Corvette DP is a Pratt & Miller/Coyote chassis with a slightly different engine

Earnhardt Childress Racing Technologies (ECR) developed 5.5-liter (335 cu.in.) Chevrolet LS9 V-8 producing series mandated 600 SAE hp via twin sonic intake air restrictors designed by Pratt & Miller Engineering
