Is Fomula One too easy?

In FP1 at Suzuka we saw a 17 year old finish within 0.4s of his team mate. It was his first ever time in a modern F1 car and he has a grand total of about 30 total car races in his career. Putting aside the unlikely scenario that Max Verstappen is the second coming of Fangio does this mean Formula 1 is too easy? More specifically are the cars too easy to drive?

I like F1 but love GP2, seems like you actually have to drive the cars rather than have them on rails but to be fair the F1 cars don't seem as easy to drive as last year.

It's FP1. Most teams are not set up to run a fast time. Max's car certainly would have been for the publicity.
