I'm not sure what Hamilton did to so royally piss off the racing gods but whatever it was he sure did a good job.

Starting 16th or perhaps on pit lane on the worst passing track of the entire season is not how one wins a championship. And there wasn't a blessed thing that he could have done differently.:shakehead:

Pretty sure it has something to do with the earrings :D

I'm pretty sure it's having his race number tattooed behind his ear actually...

I missed the start...did he drop it?

First of all...nice to see a separate thread for an F-1 race...The next stop might have been the "OTHER" forum!? Secondly...last to 3rd for Hamilton! I guess we could call that ADEQUATE!:D Loved the actual RACING...that Alonso/Ricciardo duel was BETTER than classic! OK...off to Toronto, Bourdais on the pole? 'Bout TIME!

I've already b****ed about this on Twitter, but Santander ought to stop it with the logo trophies. We know they are the race sponsor. Really we do. Otherwise, this was a terrific race. Hockenheimring is still ruined, however.

Yeah in a car that's a second a lap faster or more than the rest... He should've finished 2nd... but he didn't... average

Not so much anymore. Bottas was 0.25 slower than Rosberg in qualifying. He got past the top third of the grid on pit strategy.

Pit timing. ;) He had to get up there to make it work.

They managed to time things so that Hamilton never had to deal with Vettel on track. And he managed to come up on Alonso both times when his tires were shot. Alonso had huge battles all day but not with Hamilton. Sure Hamilton was fast but the pit wall was very smart

The Alonso/Ricciardo fight was fun to watch .. some good racing there by both drivers.

I found the race boring but the top drivers showed why they are with brilliant car control from the likes of vettel, alonso, ricciardo, raikkonnen and Hamilton

Been waiting...but nobody here has even mentioned the wide expanses of aluminum. What's up? Only 52,000 on race day. World Cup hangover? $700 tickets? Vettel talking about how the exhaust sounds are "s***"? (I'm over THAT one, not holding my breath for NA/V-10s or 12s) Schumacher's accident? The track? Austria looked spectacular, Germany?...not so much! (not talking about the actual race) Sparky skid plates ain't gonna fix ANYthing!

Cheapest seats were something like 150 euros...

Three day tickets were
138, 187, 219, 268, 301, 349, 390, 428 Euros
The majority were 187, 219 or 268

Sunday only were 203 or 244 Euros. 244 € = 330 USD

That is a lot of cash to shell out for a very below average track layout. I can fully understand why folks don't want to attend the race.

Going for the opposite trick to Austria. Mateschitz sold the tickets cheap but sold lots of them to make a profit...

Yeah, "only" $330?...if fans could walk to the track, camp for free across the road and haul their own food and beverage...it'd be a great deal! So, most responses were defending the cost, does that mean the product stinks, then? Bare aluminum has been a BIG topic on these forums over the seasons, just not in F1. Denial won't save the day...maybe a race in Russia will? I wonder what would happen to horse racing without betting? "F-1, a Casino at EVERY track? Cured!:gomer:

Bare stand talk here coincided with financial issues and sinking TV ratings. F1 isn't having financial issues. That's a promoter problem, not an F1 problem. If they want 20 races, they'll find 20 races. People will complain, but still watch.

Interesting how the mind sees what it wants to see:

Cameraman: Sunday only, $330.
NismoZ: Sunday, only $330.

I left the hyphen out of my compound noun Sunday-only.

That was quite a drive by Hamilton. I wonder how much a factor his damaged wing was in the tire wear that eventually stopped his charge...

In either case, if they ever have the New Jersey race I'll be thrilled if the tickets are that cheap. I am serious. :shakehead:

I saw them and groaned. WTF 2 races in a row with those pieces of crap?

The trophies are always interesting to see, every country has its own flavor. This is stupid.

The German promotors just need the right promotions:

$30? Chinchillas get in free?

MaryBad is the new good, don't ya know?

My wife's reaction was, "Those are every reason I would never go"

The strategy probably works if you are trying to sell a lot of $30 tickets to have a safe place to be an ass, but not much more.
