Texas and I don't always get along but Texas music and I usually do just fine.

Sad today that we lost a great one I've enjoyed since I was a little kid (I grew up in a kinda weird house).

Johnny Winter had a rare talent for playing fast and still packing a song with soul. I'm a big fan but I must admit that I passed on opportunities to see him later in life because I didn't want to be disappointed. The hard life definitely took its toll. We were lucky to have him as long as we did.

Heaven done called another blues stringer back home...

^^^^^ Be Careful With a Fool is my favorite Johnny Winter song. RIP Texas Axeman.

The comments include this gem:

I saw Johnny open for George (Thorogood) at Hofstra University back in '85 and there was nothing left after Johnny played. He shredded it so bad the George was a goner before he got onstage! It was like the Partridge Family following Hendrix! The order of the billing must've been put together by the Bizarro Talent Agency.
