I just hope that it's something fresh and clever and not just a rehash of the old skits. They're brilliant but I think their legacy deserves more.

It would be brilliant if they repeatedly set the stage for a rehash of an old skit and just stopped or ended it prematurely. With something besides the Spanish Inquisition, I mean.

Spamalot did a good job of rehashing some old stuff but being fresh and irreverent and that was just Eric Idle. So I'm hopeful.

Most of this looks like a "greatest hits" with "Spamalot"-style numbers. Ok, fine. These guys deserve to milk it for all it's worth. Almost every day I laugh at some comment or thought that originated with them.

Awesome. I saw that they were doing this but this is the first I've seen U.S. theaters included.

I'm going. There's a theater about 20 mins away that will be showing this live on the 20th. Show time is 1:30 pm CT which is perfect. $16/ticket isn't bad either.

We're in for the 20th as well. It occurs to me that while I'm willing to pay to see the Pythons do their old bits, I dread having half the theater doing the bits along with them.

When I first heard about this I hoped that they would do something new, but that was foolish. I'm suspended in the '80s and I think the Pythons should be there with me. This wasn't a new chapter of the many years of brilliant comedy that these guys brought us, it was a grand finale. And a fine finale it was.

I enjoyed the production, I laughed at all the bits I knew, and I laughed until I cried at some of the twists, flubs, and surprises. I'm honored to have been "there" as the brought down the curtain.

Sadly, Terry Jones is not okay. Jones has been diagnosed with a rare form of dementia, primary progressive aphasia. Although he's still functional he's unable to speak very much. It's a sad fate for someone who crafted so many gems of wit and and storytelling.
