I managed to get my hands on some media credentials for the ALMS race last weekend at Lime Rock and it was one of the most enjoyable weekends I've ever had at a track. Despite the relentless heat (Michelin guys said it peaked at 99 ambient) and brutal humidity it was an awesome experience. I rented a high end professional lens for the weekend, a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS ii, and it really made a difference in my shooting. My Flickr gallery is below, and I've also got my website and Facebook page that you can like if you feel like it. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. Mapguy I'll actually be there too! No credentials or anything but its going to cap off this racing marathon I'm currently undertaking. Started at Watkins for the 6 Hours, then to Lime Rock last weekend with Pocono sunday, currently I'm in Toronto for the Indycar race and next weekend I'm making my first visit to Mosport before heading home finally. I'm sure the pictures won't be quite as spectacular as my Lime Rock set but I'm super excited for it none the less. One of the last great north american road courses for sure.

Great pics. Then I saw the Deltawing and threw up in my mouth a little.

God, was it ever HOT!

But, like you said, it was fun. Lime Rock is always fun. Great place to watch a race.

Mosport, too, is a great place to watch a race. A bigger track, so make sure you spend a lot of time during the practice/qualifying sessions to make your way to all different locations (some paths take you away from the track to get to another location, and can be quite the hilly hike). You may still be able to get great shots without a photo pass, especially if you have a nice lens, because there are a lot of spectator areas that are quite close and above any obstructing fencing (or no fencing at all).

I'll be there. Looks like the weather is going to cool down a bit by this weekend. Sure hope so, because it's getting back into the 90s right now, at least in Rochester.

This one reminds me of that line from Risky Business:
"Who's the U-boat commander?"

Thanks guys. It means a lot. This was by far my best weekend of shooting to date and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Rus'l I'll be there all 3 days and I've been doing some research into what places are best. I've heard good things about the area outside of the Moss Hairpin. Its a hike I know but there seems to be a lot of potential there. I'll do a lot of exploring for sure!
