Anyone follow Race Across America? Screw your Tour de France. Hope on your bike and ride ACROSS effinng AMERICA.

New record this year.....7 days 22 hours and some change....I'm grabbing a hammy walking to the mailbox.

I thought they stopped running that race? Last I heard they had guys literally riding themselves to death...

I read a little bit about this last year. They modified the rules in 2006 so that the race winner comes from the class that requires periodic rest, similar to the IDITAROD (sp?). I can't imagine the saddle sores.

Saddle sores are a problem. Another one is severe cramping of the neck and shoulders from holding your head up for days on a road bike.

Noticed is some pics from this year's race that a few women riders went to recumbents.
