I need to have a website hosted. Low anticipated traffic. Who would you use to do that most economically? Where can I find "building a site for dummies?" How can I best accomplish that? Is there a solution that allows me to use some sort of gui interface instead of using code?

The only one I know is GoDaddy, because of Danicles. :gomer::gomer::gomer:

I have my site registered at GoDaddy because it's cheap. Haven't actually built the site yet.

I've had good experience with General Hosting. They're a small company in New York City.

I have been happy w/ Yahoo hosting.

You may want to look into Site Spinner for page design.

My domain came from godaddy, and I use squarespace for hosting. It's all template driven, so you can build it yourself, and moderately inexpensive.

Linky? I have the same situation as Indy. Need a host that I can ask a question or two each year. Very little updating (I know, I know). Lots of mail though. Just need to continue my web presence and don't like the current host.

This is a local company that is a very good hosting firm. Their market is local businesses and they host a lot of corporate sites, from small to huge.

It is actually a very cool company. They provide free (or reduced rate if they have very high usage) web hosting to any Utah-based 501c3. And they host a lot of them. They were one of the first ISPs in the state.

Thanks. When I googled "General Hosting" NYC, a whole of stuff came up and I wasn't sure which one was the right one.

I used 1and1 in the past. Never had an issue. They have web site building tools (they also advertise them on TV).

The host I use now is a bit more advanced and their tech support can be elitist, doubt you'd like that.
