A very windy cool day at the track but it sure beats the heck out of being at work. Chop has the times but it seemed that Bourdais and Bruno were the quickest. Players packed up and left early. Jourdain, Dingman and Boss were also there. At one point Chop mentioned Boss being 8 secs a lap slower than the fastest time. :shakehead Haberfeld stuck it in the sand around 4:00pm so we left as well when we saw the Gehls crane moving down the track towards Canada corner. One question I was left with was why the cars ran without pop-off valves?

Because they can???

Actually a good question that I would love to know the answer to. Possibly since the revs are limited this year a pop valve has a lesser effect than in the past.

The pop-off valve is an enforcement tool, the teams regulate the boost through the ECU. They don't run with one because they really don't need it. (And, it is doubtful they'd get any of the "official pop off valves" for testing purposes anyway.)
