and there is no thread, did it really happen?

Seriously, I think this is the first time in my memory that an .1RL race has passed on OC with no mention at all?

Not that I give a crap about it.

The qualies showed up on the dvr but I didn't watch it. Is the race over or was it last night?

Funny how my interest in Indycar racing has gone from intense (10 years ago), to just about nothing (now)

I have not even looked at the schedule, once.

Yes. Both.

From the comedy POV, I give you Double Angry Birds and a Junk Grab. (http://twitvid.com/IHKVM):D

Racing-wise, Mr. Judd blew up ON THE PACE LAP, Power was at fault with Viso, and some good dicing throughout.

I flipped over and saw the heat race qualifying......

Thought, "Well it is Saturday night short track racing....." Then I turned back to Storage Wars reruns.

do they get bad ratings because they run late at night or do they run late at night because they get bad ratings?

I'm just wondering if its a prerequisite for an Indycar oval race for it to rain and delay the crap out of it making people who care a little bit not care much at all.

Yah that pissed me off a couple weeks ago. They forget about the DVR crowd. Its the summer I'm not sitting inside watching races on a beautiful day.

If you're in the US, all of the races are up on the indycars youtube channel in entirety. Nobody's watching, but they're available.

Also, don't be surprised if this track goes tits up. The new owners filed an almost immediate post sale lawsuit (http://www.newtonindependent.com/newton_independent/2012/05/trial-date-set-in-iowa-speedway-lawsuit.html) after getting stuck with ~$2 million in unpaid bills. Maybe they should have looked at comparables like Gateway, Milwaukee, Chicago Motor and Pikes Peak before going into the racetrack business.

What on earth is stuck in the back of the 67?

Gnam

I think it's the rear bumper falling off. The other half is skidding across the track wondering where it all went wrong. It could have been part of a Boeing 787 or a Ferrari key chain. I hope no one ran over it.

What on earth is stuck in the back of the 67?

It's the bumper. The right side is trailing the car, the left side is wedged into the left rear suspension.

Thanks , I thought it was a jack or starter .

Or a jack starter. IndyCar is hi tech!

Might have something to do with the angle of the right rear tyre. :gomer:

I read somewhere the Iowa race was very popular in the TV ratings category.

DOWN 40% viewership PLUS NBCSN had 6 hours of racing coverage. 0.18 overall.

I reckon the heat race coverage scared away 1/2 the viewers because it was pathetic. Even FTG and pressdog were lampooning it. More positive direction. Traction. Vibrant. Quaint.

An unimpeachable source insists the mIndyCar races are broadcast in over 300 countries. And since they are beamed in to space with satellites, I amagione billions and billions ultimately must see these races. :gomer:

But yeah, the 20 million was the number of mouse bucks that Mari gets to deposit in her passbook savings account at Terre Haute National Bank. :gomer::gomer:
