Not sure if you're getting this on tv in the states but I'm sure our Canadian friends are; this is the party to end all parties. The people are 20 or more deep along both sides of the 14km Thames route. There's 1000 boats. There's colour, noise, uniforms, bands, bells, military men, pomp, circumstance and chivalry. It's absolutely fantastic.

Was quite the spectacle. Both Her Majesty and Prince Phillip appeared to be in great spirits despite the grotty weather...the BBC coverage however was dire....millions of useless cut aways to sodden reporters desperately trying to be entertaining and informative...

I'm all about the pomp, but the circumstance stuff can bite me. That will get you into trouble. :mad:

Apparently Regina, or Latin for Queen.

The E stands for Elisabeth, II - latin: the second and last but not least R stands for Regina whichalso is latin and simply means - Queen .
So the EIIR e.g. in the royal crest means Queen Elisabeth the second.

Jolly good show. I like seeing the British be British.

I celebrated the Jubiliee by attending a Good Guys car show and by casting my ballot. ;)

Amazing - our love for all things British: Royalty, bearskin hats, PG Tips, Adele.

While the festivities were underway, I spent Saturday in DC touring a beautifully restored building torched by the British in 1814.

Glad we got over that little spat. :laugh:

Of course the very best thing about Britain is Cricket....(especially when England is the Number One Test side in the world with a whitewash of India last summer and back-to-back home-and-away victories in The Ashes)....:D
