I'm not a golfer. An "eagle" is a hole in one, right? What the hell is a "double eagle"?

Double eagle on par three is a hole in one, does that clear it up :gomer:

birdie 1 below par
eagle 2 below par
double eagle 3 below par, so it had to be a par five hole.

[higher math]Not so much. A hole in one is a 1 which would be two below a par 3 aka an eagle.[/higher math]

Hey, I only play golf once a year drunk, so I might be a little off. The course we play has teenge girls driving golf carts with bars on the back, our scores are an approximation.

Also known as an albatross. Did not know that until yesterday.

EDIT: also important to note that double eagle is the rarest shot/score in golf. Yesterday was only the 4th double eagle in Masters history.

Wondered what the Filter reference was for and then I opened the thread...:-D

The Albatross was immense no doubt, but Blubba's save onto the green at the 10th in the playoff was INSANE....

And to think if Phil had just gone back to the tee on the par three he would have have been in the playoff as well...

Still, it wasn't as good as his US Open meltdown a few years ago....

Gee, I can't imagine how Golf got a reputation of being played by a bunch of snobbish elitist bastards....
